An incredibly beautiful and rare antique watch chain featuring an unusual combination of elongated barrel/torpedo links and intricate love knots. This is a particularly special design, and I cannot find any like this available online.

The craftsmanship on this piece is truly stunning. Each elongated torpedo link features an elegant openwork design with delicate gold detailing and decorative bands at either end. These alternate with beautifully twisted love knot links, creating a wonderful contrast in texture and dimension. The combination is quite unusual and makes this chain a real standout amongst traditional antique watch chains.

This beauty also comes with one working dog clasp and a stationary T-bar, which can easily be removed for a more versatile look. Wear it with the T-bar hanging from the dog clasp, remove it for a simpler look, or style the chain as a lariat with your favourite charms!

Antique watch chains of this style were popular during the late Victorian and Edwardian eras (late 1800s to early 1900s). The love knot motif has long symbolised love, unity and everlasting connection, making this an especially charming example of antique gold craftsmanship. There are no makers marks on this chain but there are 375 hallmark stamp on the clasp.
